Most Random Day

Someone told me once that even though everyone thinks the full moon is when all the weirdos come out and strange things happen, that it’s actually the new moon when the truly odd stuff goes on.  I don’t put much stock in that kinda thing anyway, so I wrote it off as just another old wives tale.

Today there is a new moon.  And I’m not talking about the second book in the Twilight saga.  Random things are happening…some good, some bad.

First, I headed to the grocery store.  I ended up with the same cashier who asked me when I am “going to have that baby.”  Graham was 7 weeks old and IN THE CART.  Needless to say, when I looked up and realized it was the same cashier, I prepared for another stupid comment.  Of course, she never fails.  Today, her first question was whether I have anything for WIC.  I didn’t even understand the question. I thought maybe there was some kind of donation for people who use WIC.  Then I realized she was asking if I was purchasing anything using WIC money.  Ok, now I’m not sure if I should be offended or what.  I don’t think it’s a safe bet that any time a woman comes to a grocery store with her kid(s) that she’s automatically on WIC.  Granted, I did look like total crap, but still.

Next thing I know, we’re home and getting a phone call from our mortgage/loan officer asking us if we want to refinance for 1 point lower.  YES PLEASE!  We don’t even have to start over on the 30 year term.  WOOT WOOT!  How many loan officers call YOU asking if you want to refinance?  None that I know, until today.  (Side note: If you’re a farmer looking for a mortgage and having a hard time due to not having set income on a weekly/monthly basis, give Linda Taglia at Farm Credit a call.  She told us she takes care of her clients even after their papers are signed and obviously she meant it.)

So, overall, I guess I’m 1-1 on the weird crap happening today…let’s see what else goes on.  What’s that?  Screaming baby waking up from a nap half an hour early?  Check!
